IHES is an institute for advanced research in mathematics, theoretical physics, and any other related science. IHES promotes and carries out theoretical scientific research. Its action is mainly carried out by making available to the professors and researchers of the Institute, permanent or visiting, material resources enabling them to carry out disinterested research.
