Spoon is a virtual computing platform that allows users to launch desktop applications from their browsers without any installations. It offers software that allows businesses, developers, and consumers to stream desktop applications such as Firefox, Skype, Chrome, Adobe Reader, and other apps over the web, without downloading them. Its products include Browser Sandbox: facilitates cross-browser and backwards compatibility testing; SQL Sandbox: allows launching any number of preconfigured database servers and tools on a single machine; and Selenium Sandbox: a solution for automated browser testing by running Selenium tests on a variety of browser containers all on a local machine. Spoon was launched in 2006 and its operations are based in Seattle, Washington.
