ORAU'yu diğer kuruluşlardan ayıran en önemli güçlerden biri, karmaşık sorunların üstesinden gelmek için tamamlayıcı uzmanlığa sahip çeşitli ekipleri bir araya getirme becerisidir. İster kimyasal veya biyolojik tehditleri tespit etmek için yeni teknolojiler geliştiriyor, ister COVID-19 pandemisi gibi yeni ortaya çıkan bulaşıcı hastalıklar hakkında epidemiyolojik çalışmalar yürütüyor olsun, ORAU'nun multidisipliner yaklaşımı, yüksek kaliteli sonuçlar sunarken tüm yönlerin dikkate alınmasını sağlar.
ORAU'nun sunduğu bir diğer avantaj ise ülke çapındaki son teknoloji laboratuvar tesislerine erişimidir. Bu tesisler, malzeme bilimi, kimya/biyokimya/mikrobiyoloji/immünoloji/toksikoloji/fizik/mühendislik vb. alanlarda deneyler yapmak için gelişmiş enstrümantasyonla donatılmış olup, bu tesisleri hem temel araştırma hem de uygulamalı Ar-Ge projeleri için ideal kılmaktadır.
